What is the best way to get in contact?
Feel free to give us a call or use our Contact Form. Our shop phone number is 214-543-7087.
How do I ship my items for customization?
Please see our Shipping page for complete directions on how to ship in your parts.
What is the "Return Shipping Signature/Insurance" option?
This option allows the customer to choose their desired level of liability protection during return shipping.
The $500, $1000, $1500, and $2000 insurance options indicate our company's maximum liability for the replacement value of your components. For example: If you select the $1000 insurance option and your slide/parts/optic/etc is deemed lost or irreparably damaged during transit after leaving our facility, Maple Leaf Firearms LLC will furnish an equivalent replacement of up to $1000 at our dealer cost as quickly as reasonably possible, subject to the availability of components.
This protection does not carry any "cash" value. In the case of loss or damage, Maple Leaf Firearms will provide compensation in the form of equivalent components only, and under no circumstances provide cash compensation for the lost parts.
How do I check the status of my order?
After you place your order you will be able to view your current order status by logging into your customer account.
Once you send your parts and they are received here, we will inventory them into our system and mark your order as "Received/In Process". Please allow up to one week from the time your parts arrive here for us to get them unboxed and inventoried. You will receive an email when your order is updated to "Received/In Process".
If we find any issues with your order once it is inventoried it into our system, we will contact you directly at that time.
The next update you will receive from us is when the work is completed and we are shipping your order back to you. You will receive a tracking number via email when your order ships.
In an effort to keep lead times as low as possible for all customers, it is our company policy to not provide more detailed status updates.
How do I make changes to my existing order?
Please ensure your order is entirely correct and contains all features you would like on your custom slide prior to finalizing and placing your online order. Due to the streamlined nature of our machining process and workflow, it is extremely time consuming and inefficient for our staff to make manual order changes to existing orders once they are in process.
If you do wish to make a change to an existing order (such as a change in optic cut configuration, or change in milling design, etc) once your online order has been placed, you will need to complete our Change Order request which can be found on the Order Changes page.
As of 12/6/2020 this is the only way to make changes to an existing order.
Please note that while we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate change order requests, we cannot guarantee the requested change will be possible to make. If we cannot accommodate your requested changes we will refund the Change Order fee and your order will be processed in the configuration as originally ordered.
Please note that some changes may incur an added fee for the additional work performed (ie change in design from a $200 package to a $300 package). In such cases the customer will be invoiced separately for the remaining balance. The fee for the change order request does not count towards any additional balance on the order.
If you wish to add products such as a set of iron sights to an existing order, please place a new order for the items and leave a note in the order comments with your current order number, requesting them to be to installed and shipped with your existing order. In such cases there is no need to place a Change Order Request.
Can you work on other models that are not listed on your website?
No. If the make/model is not listed on our website, we do not work on it. At this time, we ONLY work on most Glock, most S&W M&P, Sig P320, Sig P365, and HK VP9/VP40 models.
Do you offer Law Enforcement, Military, or First Responder discounts?
Yes! Please see our LE Sales page for details! We use VerifyPass to issue unique discount codes for use on our slide milling services.
What does "Irons Forward Configuration" mean? What advantages does it offer?
This refers to the placement of the rear iron sight relative to optic cut. The "standard" configuration is to place the optic cut in front of the factory rear sight dovetail. In the "Irons Forward" configuration, we will relocate the rear iron sight in front of the optic.
There are pros and cons to both configurations, however we find many experienced shooters to prefer the irons forward configuration once they get used to shooting with a slide mounted optic.
It should be noted that due to geometric constraints, some optics are not able to be placed in front of the rear iron sight in the standard configuration. For example, the Leupold DPP and Aimpoint Acro P1/P2 are too long to position in front of the Glock factory dovetail without compromising the Glock firing pin drop safety mechanism. If you wish to use Glock style suppressor sights with these optics, the only option is to go with a forward set dovetail.
Holosun 407k/507k - Shield RMSc - Sig RomeoZero optic cut compatibility:
The Holosun 407k/507k optic uses a unique footprint that is slightly (about 1mm) shorter than the Shield RMSc and Sig RomeoZero footprint.
Generally, an existing Shield RMSc or Sig RomeoZero optic cut can be modified to accept the Holosun 407k/507k optic, however the optic will not fit snug in the optic cut pocket.
The Shield RMSc and RomeoZero will not fit into the Holosun 407k/507k optic cut as they are longer than the optic cut pocket.
We can modify 43XMOS/48MOS slides to accept the HS407k/HS507k. We do not offer conversion services for Smith & Wesson Shield slides with existing optic cuts to mount Holosun optics.
Trijicon RMR / Holosun 407c/507c/508t optic cut compatibility:
The Trijicon RMR Optic Cut is compatible with the Holosun 407c/507c/508t optics, and vice versa. However, the optics require different mounting screws. This is the only difference. Correct screws are available for purchase here.
Holosun SCS-MOS / Glock "MOS" footprint machining:
We do not machine for the Glock "MOS" footprint on any slide or platform. We do not machine for the Holosun SCS optic which uses the Glock "MOS" footprint.
We stock and sell the Holosun SCS-MOS for use on factory Glock MOS slides only.
Converting non-MOS slide to MOS footprint:
Non-MOS slides cannot be safely machined to accept the Glock MOS footprint. This is due to the location of the rear iron sight dovetail relative to the drop safety mechanism.
Factory MOS slides have the rear dovetail positioned further back than dovetails found on non-MOS slides, allowing more distance between the rear sight and the drop safety mechanism for the relatively long MOS footprint to fit.
What about optics that aren't listed? Can you machine my slide to fit something else?
At this time we can only guarantee correct fitment and function with the specific optics we have listed services for online. That being said, in many cases there are optics that are not listed on our website that will be compatible with an optic cut for a similar optic. For one example, Swampfox Liberty series optics have been found to fit in our Trijicon RMR footprint in the past.
Unfortunately, due to the extremely varied nature of different optic manufactures' tolerances and the different screw specifications they may require, Maple Leaf Firearms has taken the position to only support the optics for which we have specific slide machining services listed.
You may, at your discretion, and at your sole risk, opt to have your slide machined for an optic we do not have listed using one of the "compatible" optic cuts for a different optic. In these cases, we recommend sending your non-listed optic with your slide and adding a note in the order comments for us to test fit your non-listed optic to the specific optic cut as ordered prior to us machining your slide.
If, upon test fitment, Maple Leaf Firearms deems your optic to be incompatible with your ordered optic cut we will attempt to contact you with replacement options. If we fail to make contact with you we will machine your slide as ordered.
Once your slide has been machined, we will not mount your optic, nor do we provide mounting hardware for optics other than the one the machining service was ordered for.
You, the customer, assume all liability and responsibility to ensure your optic is properly mounted with correct hardware and tightened to the proper torque specs.
Please exercise caution, and do your due diligence, to ensure the optic you plan to mount is compatible with the optic cut you order. There is a lot of misinformation regarding optic footprint compatibility. Just because a manufacture says an optic is certain footprint does not guarantee it will be compatible with that footprint's uniquely specified machining dimensions. Additionally, even if an optic fits on an adapter plate like a Glock MOS plate for a similar optic, that does not mean it will work in a machined optic cut.
Do you make cover plates for optics other than the Trijicon RMR/Holosun "C" Series?
No, not at this time.
What is the typical turnaround time?
Please see the banner at the top of our home page for current approximate lead times. Please note that lead times are fluid and are subject to change without notice due to current workload, and do not include holidays or shipping times.
Can you work on aftermarket slides?
Yes! If you plan to order our customization services for a blank slide, simply put "Blank" in the form where it asks for your slide serial number.
Please note that there are some brands and models that we will not work on due to quality control and/or dimensional differences. At this time we will not work on Rock Slide USA slides.
Our CNC programs and fixtures are optimized to work on OEM slides.
Why do you require a "Serial Number" for your customization work?
We ask that you put the serial number of your factory Glock slide simply so we can keep track of your slide while it's here. If your slide does not have a serial number, as is the case with most blanks, simply put "Blank" in the serial number form.
Slides that do not currently bear a serial number may, at our discretion, be discreetly laser engraved internally with an ID number so that it may be tracked through our process. This is done to ensure that all customers receive back the exact slide they sent in for customization.
How does modifying the slide affect the functionality of my pistol?
We extensively test our slide designs for function prior to their release to the public. We do not release products that we feel are a danger to the user, or those that have significant reliability issues. With that said, every individual handgun and shooter is different, so certain modifications may alter the reliability and/or accuracy of your handgun.
Obviously, all of our slide milling services will remove mass from the stock slide. We find that most models continue to function as intended with the factory recoil spring assembly, even with significant slide mass reduction. You may choose to change your recoil spring to a heavier or lighter weight based on personal preference.
As a general rule of thumb, we do not recommend using ammunition loaded to higher pressures than standard SAAMI specifications with a modified slide.
Will my pistol recoil more with a modified slide?
That's a tough question to answer because there are a lot of variables in play. Milled slides will have less mass that the typical factory slide. In general, because of this decrease in slide mass, most shooters will perceive a slightly sharper, snappier recoil impulse as the entire firearm has less inertia to counteract against the forces of the bullet being accelerated. (Simple physics: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction...)
HOWEVER, because the slide is now cycling faster, and there is less reciprocating mass, most experienced shooters will shoot flatter with a modified slide than with a stock slide. As with any handgun, solid grip fundamentals make all the difference with recoil management.
Will modifying my firearm void the factory warranty?
Slide milling and frame modifications will almost certainly void your factory warranty. Drop in replacement parts alone may void your factory warranty. It is your responsibility to know what is covered under your warranty.
What is the Order Cancellation Policy?
Please ensure your order is entirely correct prior to finalizing your online order.
If you wish to cancel a pending order containing any slide customization services you will be charged a 25% cancellation fee of the total value of the customization services. The remainder of your payment will be refunded to your credit card.
Cancelled or returned orders for any items other than slide customization services will be subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Due to the increased administrative processing fees associated with the Sezzle buy-now-pay-later service, orders financed using the Sezzle option are not eligible for cancellations or refunds.
After 30 days, no refunds will be issued back to credit cards. We will issue any applicable refunds as store credit only after 30 days from the date of order placement.
Built-to-order custom products such as our 5X line of slides are not eligible for refund or cancellation once production has started on your order.
What is the Return Policy?
You may return most new, unopened (unused and uninstalled) items within 30 days of delivery. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect item, etc.). Due to the nature of the products we sell and for liability reasons, used or installed items are not returnable. Ammunition is not returnable.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
For obvious reasons, all of our custom work is non-returnable, however, we guarantee your 100% satisfaction. In the unlikely event you are unhappy with our custom work, we will work with you to come up with a solution.
If you need to return an item, please contact us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.
Note: All returns not due to an error on our part will incur a 10% restocking fee plus original shipping costs.
